In order to short a two-prong body cord, all you have to do is connect the two metal posts sticking out of the plug with something conductive. Anything metal will work, such as a screwdriver or your foil guard.
Make sure that you keep good contact between each post and the screwdriver or foil guard. If your screwdriver slips for an instant, the scoring machine will respond by showing you the white light.
Now that your body cord is shorted out, is your white light still on?
"Yes, the white light is still on when I ground out my body cord."
"No, the white light stopped."
Those are the names of the two posts sticking out of your body cord plug. If you look closely, you can see that one is larger than the other. The thin post is called the B line, and the fat post is called the C line. You might remember that by thinking of the vastness of the sea--or, rather, the largeness of the C line. The A line is the wire that leads to your alligator clip.
